Making our way in life is a feat of learning and experiences. And what we accomplish depends on what we learn from those experiences.

I created this painting, Making Your Way, to express how difficult it is to first find what your true passion is in life and then fulfill it.
My paintings are personal expressions of what I have learned in life. And it is my wish that they speak to you and they give you the encouragement and/or inspiration to continue on your path no matter how long it takes.

My life has been filled with learned experiences, most which have defined who I am today. It has been a wild ride with decisions I have had to make that stalled fulfilling the passion of my life. Becoming a full time fine artist was my dream since my late teens.

But because I had to make a living for the good of my young family, I chose a profession that was as close to my passion as possible, that of a commercial artist. As a professional illustrator, I was still using acrylic paint to create my illustrations. And as a graphic designer I was improving my eye every day when designing magazines and layouts.

I don’t regret all the different paths and decisions I had to make to finally become a full time fine artist. Of course I wish I didn’t have to wait so long but I finally got there.
It is truly wonderful when you can finally pursue your purpose in life. My path was not a straight line and there were obstacles I had to overcome but I got there.
