We often fade into the background when we feel vulnerable. I have first-hand experience myself. As a female, when I was at an event for work in my company’s financial department of mostly men, I often found myself alone and fading into the background. But I also don’t like large crowds, so learning that about myself, I try to adjust my reactions now.
The times we live in today are responsible for our vulnerability. Life is so fast paced, rapid progress keeps everything changing too quickly for us to feel we have a handle on the changes. I am not sure what the answer is but we can’t let ourselves fade away. We need to try to meet the challenge everyday by taking small steps. If we continue to fade into the background, we end up with a huge challenge in front of us when we decide to catch up.

Decisions are always difficult to make. My life has been plagued by many occasions when I was torn about the decisions I had to make. So we find our bodies torn down the middle. Especially when you like all the choices. And finding discomfort within ourselves, until we take the time to weigh which choice will be most meaningful from all viewpoints of our life. Some will be right for us and a few might be wrong.
