Stimulating Hands Wall Art ideas for Your Home or Office Decor

Comment on this

When I started painting full time, hands and figures were uppermost in my art dialogue on canvas.

I am still so inspired by the thought of what hands disclose to us and how they are used.

You can tell so much about a person by how they accessorize their hands, how they hold them and how they extend them.

And let’s not forget how much they help us accomplish.

But hands also look great as abstract art in your home or office.

Photo 1, left to right: Directional Hand 2, Directionally Hand 1 - both 24” x 18” and Acrylic/Mixed Media on Canvas

In an office setting these bold, colorful, abstracted hands inspire and empower workers to be creative in their approach to their projects.

And in a home, their modern, abstracted playfulness cheers you up and lifts your spirits with hope.

The way I have arranged them on the bedroom wall sends a message of partnership, reaching out.  Over the chest it ties everything together, adding again that playful friendliness we need to feel a lift to our spirits in our special spot in our home. You can’t help feeling great when you view these paintings. Art has been proven to have a healing effect on people.

These two paintings have just been used as a banner in my home town to send the message to embrace our differences. They signal for us to extend a hand and join together.

I bet they would look great on your office wall or leaning on a buffet or fireplace. Click the links above to add them to your home or office.

Using a Series of Art for your Home or Office Decor

Comment on this

Do you know many artists who work in a series of 2, 3 or 4 paintings? That can definitely add a cohesive look to your room whether your home office or your living room walls.

For over 3 years, especially with my small paintings, I have created series of paintings that are beneficial for  creating a great designing tool for your walls. Because the small abstracts are so versatile, they are great for the small spaces but work well in a large space as well.

Below you can see how great this looks over your office/home coffee service area using all 4 Symbolic Landscape paintings. Two or three would work too. To view the Symbolic Landscape Series individually: Symbolic Landscape 1   Symbolic Landscape 2    Symbolic Landscape 3    Symbolic Landscape 4    View all of my small paintings.

Combining 4 - 12" X 12" canvases in a square on a  wall with an inch or more between them gives you a painting equal to at least 25" X 25". Great for those in apartments too. Once they expand to a home, you have the ability to play around with them in a room and fit them in most spaces for their wall art decor.

Here is an example used in an office (home or in another location) using as a square. If you need advice on what hangers I recommend using for putting up art on your walls, read this post.

In the next  blog post I will show you examples of using a series of other different sizes as wall art for your home or office decor needs. Don't want to miss it? Sign up for the RSS feed.

Art Prints Now Available for Your Home Decor or Office Wall

Joyce Wynes / Comment on this

Is there a painting in my portfolio that absolutely speaks to you?

Because I have been asked many times from admirers who have fallen in love with one or more of my paintings, if I sell high quality prints of my paintings, I have finally decided to look into doing just that.

Up until recently, I just hadn’t liked the quality, sizes offered or the prices charged by some of the printers to contract with them. Especially if I couldn’t see it before it was sent to you.

This past year I have put up a site on Saatchi Art who sells original art and fine art prints on paper and wrapped canvas.

When any of my collectors asked about a print, I uploaded that painting image jpg to Saatchi Art. Then I gave them the link to go right to that piece to view the sizes and price selections on Saatchi Art. More than 3 people have ordered large prints with sizes 24” X 24” and up to 24” X 36”.

They have emailed me once they received their prints with rave reviews. The large prints are good quality and printed true to image. Their prices are reasonable as well. So I am satisfied with the quality too. BTW, they can also frame it for you too!

I got this review on Tuesday 2/16: I got my print today. Love, love love it. Thanks so much Joyce Cynthia H

She ordered The Sailing Spirit.

Please go to my Arts Prints Menu on my website to see the few paintings I have listed there already. If the painting is shown there, you just have to press the Order Here button to go to that selection on Saatchi Art to view sizes and prices for paper or canvas.

For a painting that is not in that Art Prints Menu, you will have to contact me by email after looking through my portfolio to find the painting just right for you.

Go to the Contact Menu on my website and send me a request via my email. I will need the name of the painting so I can upload it for you to view the size and price selections as an art print.

Most of my paintings will be available on fine art paper and wrapped canvas. However it might not be available at the right size for your placement. You are welcome to make more than one request.

Also some of my paintings are created as a series so specify if you want all of them or just one particular painting. It is always best to print all at once to retain color sameness.

I almost forgot...you can order prints of my illustrations also. Just have to let me know which one.

I will be happy to help you in any way I can and answer any questions you may have. Just send an email.

3 Tips to Owning the Wall Art You Love for Your Home Decor

Joyce Wynes / Comment on this

You are on my website and browsing through my portfolio and you see the perfect painting for your wall. It speaks to you and you can’t stop thinking about it. You must have that painting.

Or you are out with friends to an art exhibition and you spot the perfect painting for your bedroom. Or that square, colorful painting would look great in your office on the wall behind your desk! What should you do?

I often get questions from fans on how to start an art collection to finish off their home or office decor with wall art. While I would love for them to own one of my original paintings, I understand that it might not be possible to own it right now for various reasons.

What is my advice to that art lover that just can't wait to own an image that they have fallen in love with and speaks to them in so many ways?

Here are several ways to solve this problem with my art. For art from other artists, you will have to contact them to question them for their payment structures. For owning my paintings, I list how that is possible for you below.

I realize that it is difficult during certain times in your life, especially right now with our current pandemic situation. Most of us experience the expenses of starting a home and family and the need for your money to go for immediate needs in emergency situations. But you don’t want to miss out on owning the perfect piece you have found for your walls.

1. For an original abstract painting: A Payment Plan

Don’t  be afraid to ask me if you can purchase it on a payment plan so you don’t lose out on it still being available at a later date. Just email me and we will see if we can reach agreement on a plan. I will require a down payment and automatically charge your card on our agreed payment due dates. Once it is paid in full you own it and I will ship it to you.

What are your options if you know you won’t be able to afford the painting in the near future but you must have that image in your life?

2: Purchase an Art Print on Fine Art Paper or Wrapped Canvas:

Ask the artist if you can purchase a print of the original art that you love. Artists are able to send a file of the art to a printer to make a print on fine art paper, wrapped canvas on stretchers, and more surfaces such as metal.

At one time the printers of the past needed an order of many copies of an image to be able to run the artwork on their press. Printing today has come a long way and now quality prints can be made for one copy or any number of copies at reasonable prices. Print on demand has made owning prints fast and inexpensive.

I have some art on Saatchi Art which allows you to choose various sized prints depending on the size of the original. On my website, in the Menu at the top you can go under Artsy Gift Items to Art Prints to choose those that are listed there.

If the painting isn’t there under the Art Prints Menu, look at my portfolio, decide on the painting you would like to have an art print of.

Contact me by email the name of the painting you want as a print and the approximate size you need. You might have to compromise on size however because some printers offer certain popular sizes.

I will then upload the painting to Saatchi Art and put list the art in Art Prints Menu. I will send you an email when that process is complete.

You can then go under the Art Prints Menu, click on the image to go to the larger view of the image and click on Order Here. This will only take you to the image on the Saatchi Art site where you can view all the size and price selections for that print on paper or canvas.

3. You Do Nothing or Wait Too Long to Decide:

You lose out on owning a piece of art that speaks to you. You feel regret and purchase something for your wall that matches your colors or you are advised to pick something different by someone else. But it never gives you the same feeling as the one you really loved and can’t get it out of your thoughts. Don’t forget that you could order an art Print.

Inspired by Our Times: Abstract Painting • Divided Country-Can We Mend It? About Gender and Racial Equality

Joyce Wynes / Comment on this

What Inspired this abstract Painting?

To be honest, being isolated with the pandemic for so long has inflicted much more world news than I was used to! So it is only natural for me to create more abstract paintings. And because my primary focus is the social issues we face, viola, this abstract painting came about.

Gender equality and racial equality has been jettisoned into the spotlight as it should have been years ago. And now that we are isolating with more time on our hands, it is making a big impact as we witness the injustices first hand.

But it won’t happen overnight! It takes all of us to finally examine our own biases and blinders when it comes to these topics and our participation as a society.

As you can view in the new abstract painting, Divided Country-Can We Mend It?, the canvas is divided in 2 sections, black and white. These colors are not reflective of the color of skin but more so of the larger cream colored section concluding and finally realizing they need to support what is right. That everyone is created equal. The black shapes in the cream section are those who are changing their mindset and on their way but still in the process.

The black section are those that are still non-accepting. We all know some of those types! The cream circles and shapes in that black section are those that are slowly examining their biases and creeping to the white light.

This abstract painting about our divided country is created for that unique individual who values their identity and beliefs and not afraid to show it in action and ownership.

I believe that YOU are that person. Own it now.

Imagine it in your office or home for all to see and be reflective of their biases!

Magnificent that it speaks to your values about living a fair and equal life for everyone.

How are you spending your time during the pandemic?

I hope you are paying attention to what is happening in our society and thinking about what you can do to help.

3 Great Design Ideas for Your Wall Decor Using a Series of Medium Sized Abstract Paintings

Joyce Wynes / Comment on this

While painting abstracts is my passion, I love to design everything as well. It is so exciting to compose a look and design it all the way through the process to the room itself. Seeing my paintings hanging or leaning against a wall while adding that missing element that adds the zing to the room feeds my passion.

Designing your walls, whether in your home or office, can benefit from the look of a series of medium sized abstract paintings.

By medium-sized abstract paintings, I am referring to those measuring in the range 20” to 24” in length.

1.  When you find a series of 2 medium sized abstract paintings, let me show you what you can do with them while designing your walls with a bold look. Tip: You don’t have to hang in a straight line. Try staggering.

In the above designs, from left to right: each 24”L X 18”W

Joining Together No Matter of Race Creed Gender 1 and Jointing Together ...2

2.
In this design below of 3 abstract paintings, each 16”L X 12”W, they are still compact enough to hang over a bench or a dresser. And the great thing about them is that they are a series created to hang together or you can hang them separately around the room. Again hanging separately around the room, it still keeps that cohesive, tied together look with bold color and shapes.

3.  This series of 2 abstract paintings are actually a continuation of a scene. Even though they are one scene, they can be used separately as well.

From left to right: Over the Hill-Left Side  ~  Over the Hill-Right Side

Each painting is 24”L X 20”W

The best reasons for owning a series of abstract paintings that you love is that you can use them in a design on your walls all together or separately in the same room or spread them around to other rooms as well. They are so versatile especially for those who move to another place since they are small enough to use in most areas of a room in a home or office.

If you need advice about the placement of your paintings on your walls, just email me. Don’t forget I love helping you design your space.
