You are on my website and browsing through my portfolio and you see the perfect painting for your wall. It speaks to you and you can’t stop thinking about it. You must have that painting.
Or you are out with friends to an art exhibition and you spot the perfect painting for your bedroom. Or that square, colorful painting would look great in your office on the wall behind your desk! What should you do?
I often get questions from fans on how to start an art collection to finish off their home or office decor with wall art. While I would love for them to own one of my original paintings, I understand that it might not be possible to own it right now for various reasons.
What is my advice to that art lover that just can't wait to own an image that they have fallen in love with and speaks to them in so many ways?
Here are several ways to solve this problem with my art. For art from other artists, you will have to contact them to question them for their payment structures. For owning my paintings, I list how that is possible for you below.
I realize that it is difficult during certain times in your life, especially right now with our current pandemic situation. Most of us experience the expenses of starting a home and family and the need for your money to go for immediate needs in emergency situations. But you don’t want to miss out on owning the perfect piece you have found for your walls.
1. For an original abstract painting: A Payment Plan
Don’t be afraid to ask me if you can purchase it on a payment plan so you don’t lose out on it still being available at a later date. Just email me and we will see if we can reach agreement on a plan. I will require a down payment and automatically charge your card on our agreed payment due dates. Once it is paid in full you own it and I will ship it to you.
What are your options if you know you won’t be able to afford the painting in the near future but you must have that image in your life?

2: Purchase an Art Print on Fine Art Paper or Wrapped Canvas:
Ask the artist if you can purchase a print of the original art that you love. Artists are able to send a file of the art to a printer to make a print on fine art paper, wrapped canvas on stretchers, and more surfaces such as metal.
At one time the printers of the past needed an order of many copies of an image to be able to run the artwork on their press. Printing today has come a long way and now quality prints can be made for one copy or any number of copies at reasonable prices. Print on demand has made owning prints fast and inexpensive.
I have some art on Saatchi Art which allows you to choose various sized prints depending on the size of the original. On my website, in the Menu at the top you can go under Artsy Gift Items to Art Prints to choose those that are listed there.
If the painting isn’t there under the Art Prints Menu, look at my portfolio, decide on the painting you would like to have an art print of.
Contact me by email the name of the painting you want as a print and the approximate size you need. You might have to compromise on size however because some printers offer certain popular sizes.
I will then upload the painting to Saatchi Art and put list the art in Art Prints Menu. I will send you an email when that process is complete.
You can then go under the Art Prints Menu, click on the image to go to the larger view of the image and click on Order Here. This will only take you to the image on the Saatchi Art site where you can view all the size and price selections for that print on paper or canvas.
3. You Do Nothing or Wait Too Long to Decide:
You lose out on owning a piece of art that speaks to you. You feel regret and purchase something for your wall that matches your colors or you are advised to pick something different by someone else. But it never gives you the same feeling as the one you really loved and can’t get it out of your thoughts. Don’t forget that you could order an art Print.
